Summary[edit]

Description
English: Sign at the remains of Naka-Shihoro Station in Hokkaido, Japan. It reads, "Shihoro-machi historical remains (23), designated in 1989. Remains of Japanese National Railway's Naka-Shihoro Station. The section of railway from Obihiro to Shihoro opened in 1925, diesel trains started running in 1955, and in 1970 it was turned into an unmanned station and upkeep entrusted to the local citizens. Usage of the station peaked in 1965 with 309 passengers using the station per day, however it was closed down on March 22, 1988."
