Summary[edit]

Description
English: The northern terminus of the CSX Auburndale Subdivision stub on the south side of Old Dixie Highway in Auburndale, Florida. The CSX Auburndale Subdivision was previously the Seaboard Air Line Railroad Miami Subdivision, and survived the merger with the Atlantic Coast Line in 1967, the Family Lines in 1982 and CSX in 1986. The Miami Subdivision crossed this road and ran as far north as Coleman, Florida, until CSX abandoned that segment in 1989, In the meantime, Polk County has been trying to phase out the name "Old Dixie Highway" for something less Confederate-centric like "Old Lakeland-Auburndale Road, " even though the western terminus of the road is actually in Combee Settlement, Florida.
