Description
Deutsch: Der Waldgersten-Buchenwald ist der natürlich vorkommende Buchenwald auf der Schwäbischen Alb. Er zeichnet sich durch flachgründige trockene Böden aus. Die naturnahen Wälder auf der Schwäbischen Alb sind weltweit Einzigartig. Der Kugelberg ist daher nicht nur als Naturschutzgebiet (NSG Kugelberg) sondern auch als Flora-Fauna-Habitat (FFH-Gebiet Albtrauf bei Pfullingen) und als Kernzone des UNESCO Biosphärengebiets Schwäbische Alb ausgewiesen.
