English: A view of the office building at 2440 Sheridan Drive in Tonawanda, New York on a rainy March 2023 afternoon. Local architect Trevor W. Rogers was the designer of this four-story, 26,000-square-foot Modernist-styled structure that was described in promotional material as "provid[ing] business and professional people with maximum working comfort, safety and efficiency". The design is a fine example of the Late Modern tendency to take the simplicity, austerity, and repetitive forms of earlier iterations of the International Style and push them to the extreme, but note the entrance, recessed within a concrete enframement with sloping surfaces that narrow slightly as you go inward. Construction, initiated by developer Henry R. Keller and undertaken by the Leemar Building Company at a cost of $1.2 million, proceeded briskly: the site plan was approved by the Town Board in December 1978, ground was broken the following March, and the building was open to tenants that autumn. Insurance and tech firms were represented heavily among the first crop of lessees, which comprised the local offices of the Prudential, Metropolitan Life, and Zurich-American Insurance Companies, Leeds & Northrup, United Technologies, Wang Laboratories, and Nestlé. Presently, the building serves as headquarters of the NOCO Energy Corporation.
