| Description |
Tagalog: Sa bayang ito, noong Enero 23, 1900, buong giting na nakipaglaban sa mga sundalong Amerikano ng Ikatlong Batalyon ng ika-47 Impanterya, mga boluntaryo ng E.U. na pinamumunuan ni Brig. Hen. William A. Kobie, ang humigit-kumulang na 800 manghihimagsik na Pilipino sa pamumuno ni Kom. Antonio Reyes. Ang pambobomba sa trintsera ng nagtatanggol na mga Pilipino sa baybayin ng Legazpi ang sapilitang nagpaurong sa kanila sa noon ay tulay ng San Rafael. Dito sila buong tapang na nakipaglaban nang dikitan (mano-mano) sa tumutugis na mga Amerikano. May mga 200 nagtatanggol, kabilang na si Kom. Reyes, ang buong kabayanihang nasawi sa labanang ito. |
