Summary[edit]

Description
English: Mrs. Mary Eleanor Willson was a nurse during the American Civil War. After initially volunteering for three months, she was commissioned as a regular nurse by Mrs. Mary A. Livermore in February 1863. She then cared for the officers and enlisted men from the Army of the Cumberland for two years, rendering service on the field of battle, at post hospitals, on hospital boats, and at the U.S. General Hospital "Adams Block" at Memphis,Tennessee. Post-war, she was a member of the National Association of Civil War Army Nurses, and resided at Westgate in Sawtelle, Los Angeles, California in 1910.
