Summary[edit]
DescriptionMoving mountains (1), Rhymney Valley - geograph.org.uk - 1032685.jpg |
English: Moving mountains (1), Rhymney Valley. The view across the Rhymney Valley from Troedrhiwfuwch. In the background is the scar left by a huge landslip below Cefn Rhychdir. 955781
The large flattened area across the middle of the picture is reclaimed colliery land. Extensive civil engineering works are taking place on this side of the valley to protect the railway line from Tirphil to Pontlottyn from slippage of the hillside. This has been a problem for many years and led to the demise of the village of Troedrhiwfuwch. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1032673 |
