| Description |
English: Visual example of the paramatrization of a curve. On the left is a motion which ignores the parametrization (the points) of the curve; it only respects the absolute curve length. The motion starts and ends slowly, but in between it is constant. In the example on the right side the cube respects the distribution of the points on the curve (i. e. the curve's parametrization) and accelerates and slows down accordingly. For example it speeds up on the vertical path, but briefly slows down in its middle. Later, when reaching the corner, it again decelerates before rushing to the destination. Both animations are 120 frames long, so the cubes start and reach their destination simultaniously. They just distribute the dynamics differently. |
