Summary[edit]

Description
English: Mount St. Helens is a volcano in the Cascade Mountains of Southwestern Washington state. In May of 1980 Mount St. Helens erupted created the crater that is now easily visible on it's northern flank. During the wintertime, St. Helens is covered in feet of snow. However, during late summer most of the snow has melted and is covered in ash and boulders at higher elevations. Photo by Marshall Pittman.
