| Description |
English: Monty's grave. This is the grave of Field Marshal Montgomery of Alamein, "Monty", in Binsted churchyard. It was taken a few days after Remembrance Sunday when these wreaths would have been laid. For context see 619869 and for a link to further information about the battle for which he is famous see 392450
The full inscription reads: BERNARD LAW 1ST VISCOUNT MONTGOMERY OF ALAMEIN K.G. G.C.B. D.S.O. FIELD MARSHAL 17 NOVEMBER 1887 24 MARCH 1976 |
