فارسی: سرو کهنسال منگاباد
English: It is known as the second living creature of Yazd, after serving Abarkooh. This ancient cypress, with a history of about two thousand years, is the second oldest cypress in Yazd province and the ninth registered natural monument in the country in the middle of the historical neighborhood of Mangabad in the old fabric. The old tree has been registered as a national monument in March 2005 under the number 14590. This tree has a height of more than 30 meters and a diameter of seven meters, which according to the locals has been broken due to a severe storm. Half of the country's oldest trees are located in Yazd province. There are 60 late-life trees in Yazd province. These sacred trees, which are often sycamore and cypress trees in Iran, are believed to be able to bring rain, make the sunshine, increase herds, help women conceive and give birth, and finally fulfill their vows.
Dari: سرو کهنسال شهرستان مهریز، به دومین موجود زنده یزد، بعد از سرو ابرکوه معروف است . این سرو کهنسال، با قدمتی حدود دو هزار سال، در بهار پذیرای بسیاری از مسافران و میهمانان نوروزیه که از اقصی نقاط کشور به این شهر سفر می کنند. این سرو به عنوان دومین سرو کهنسال استان یزد و نهمین اثر طبیعی ثبت شده کشور در میانه محله تاریخی منگاباد در بافت قدیم و در جوار جاده ترانزیت تهران ، بندرعباس قرار گرفته است . درخت سرو کهنسال مهریز، در اسفندماه ۱۳۸۴ به شماره ۱۴۵۹۰ به ثبت آثار ملی کشور رسیده است . سرو کهنسال منگاباد شهرستان مهریز دارای ارتفاعی بیش از ۳۰ متر و قطر هفت متر است که به گفته اهالی محل به علت طوفان شدید بخش زیادی از آن شکسته است در استان یزد ۶۰ درخت دیر زیست وجود دارد که نخستین آن سرو ابرکوه و دومین آن سرو مهریز است. این درختان مقدس که در ایران غالبا درختان چنار و سرو هستند در اعتقادات مردمی قادرند باران بیاورند، خورشید را به درخشش وا دارند، گله ها را افزایش بخشند، زنان را به بارداری و زایش یاری دهند و سرانجام نذری را بر آورده سازند.
