never taught the immortalityof the soul, as it is now taught by Spiritualists and others; andhence, when he declared that sinners should be destroyed, perish,die, or be burned or devoured by fire, he did so unquestionably,without any mental reservations or modern theological defi-nitions, such as have been taught by Papists and others.
