Description

A float showing an aircraft carrier model at the U.S. Naval Air Station Twin Cities, Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota (USA). The carrier resembles a Midway-class aircraft carrier and wears the pennant number "49" of USS Wright (CVL-49), a Saipan-class light carrier.

NAS Twin Cities was established as NAS Minneapolis before 1944. It was renamed NAS Twin Cities on 1 July 1963 and closed in 1970. It was located at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport and is today Minneapolis–Saint Paul Joint Air Reserve Station.
