Description
English: MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan - American and Japanese Boy and Girl Scouts participate in a sack race during International Scout Day at a Hangar here Oct. 1. International Scout Day is a local celebration of bilateral friendships and cooperation. Japanese and U.S. Scouts have annually gathered at Misawa Air Base since 1959, but the first official International Scout Day occurred in 1992. More than 200 Boy and Girl Scouts from Misawa Air Base and more than 300 Japanese Boy and Girl Scouts attended this year’s event.
