Português: A Festa de Iemanjá do dia 2 de fevereiro é uma das mais populares e valorizadas celebrações da cultura de matriz africana no Brasil, leva ao bairro do Rio Vermelho (Salvador, Bahia) uma quantidade imensa de fiéis e admiradores. A imagem mostra uma devota oferecendo "mimos", oferenda em agradecimento as dádivas recebidas. O mar é lar da orixá, conexão direta com a África no outro lado do Oceano Atlântico.
English: The Feast of Iemanjá on February 2 is one of the most popular and valued celebrations of African-based culture in Brazil, bringing to the Rio Vermelho district (Salvador, Bahia) an immense amount of faithful and admirers. The image shows a devotee offering "treats", offering thanks for the gifts received. The sea is home to the orixá, a direct connection with Africa on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. |
