Summary[edit]

Description
English: Midley Wall. Taken from near the entrance of Newland Farm. Once a sea wall formed to protect the now disappeared village of Midley and the newly inned fields to the north and east of Walland Marsh. You can see the drop in height on both sides of the lane though the former sea side of the wall is now at a greater height than the land that was once protected. Midley Wall runs from Westbrook Farm north to Wheelgate near Old Romney Farm. Many of the former embankments and walls provided useful methods of communication and consequently have become lanes many of which dot the Romeny Marsh landscape. The apparatus to the right is a crop sprayer linked to sewer near Horsebones Bridge.
