Description
Ane Hedvig Brøndum (1826-1916) was the mother of the artist's wife. Elisabeth Fabritius mentions a portrait with this title from 1909, but we can not be sure it is the same one. Elisabeth Fabritius, Skagensmalerne Anna og Michael Ancher og deres kreds, Volume VI, 2018, page 225. We know that Ancher made a larger version of this view in 1909, now at Skagens Museum.
