Description
From the auction notes: Michael Ancher has portrayed his wife sitting in candlelight at the piano. The painting is a variant of “Spillende Dame” (Playing Lady), Anna Ancher at the piano in the living room in Ancher's House from 1887, at Statens Museum for Kunst (The National Gallery of Denmark).
Note: That painting is not at SMK, it is at Skagens Museum as inventory SKM 313. kulturarv.dk.
