Summary[edit]

Description Apparatus for polishing notched (filleted or grooved) fatigue test specimens at the National Bureau of Standards. The finish produced is highly uniform and is similar to that produced by the NBS apparatus for smooth specimens. The specimen (held in the lathe) turns at a constant rate in relation to the polishing wire (connected to the motor shaft).
