| Description |
This is the public face of the Luftwaffe in 1940. Probably in part due to ‘Battle of Britain’ film, the He111 is seen as the main German bomber during the Battle, rather than the Dornier 17 and Junkers 88. These are two genuine German aircraft. To the left is Messerscmitt Bf109E-4/B ‘4101 / Black 12’ which was shot down during the Battle, while to the right is Heinkel He111H-20 ‘701152’ which is actually a transport variant from later in the war, having been built in 1944.
