Afrikaans: Gedenksteen vir Charles Aldridge Swart (18 Aug 1973 – 21 Aug 1998) wat deur 'n luiperd in die Krugerwildtuin, Suid-Afrika, doodgebyt is.
Tydens 'n nagrit in 1998 het 'n ou, uitgeteerde luiperdwyfie die junior veldwagter aangeval nadat hy van 'n toeristevoertuig op die Matsulwane-brug, naby Matjulu-watergat, afgeklim het. Dieselfde aand is die luiperd deur veldwagters opgespoor en geskiet. Die nadoodse ondersoek het aan die lig gebring dat sy uitgeteer en ernstig met tuberkulose besmet was. English: Memorial plaque of Charles Aldridge Swart (18 Aug 1973 – 21 Aug 1998) who was killed by a leopard in the Kruger National Park, South Africa. During a night drive in 1998, an old, emaciated female leopard attacked and killed the junior ranger who disembarked from a tourist vehicle on the Matsulwane Bridge, close to Matjulu Water Hole. The same evening the leopard was tracked down by rangers and shot. The post mortem revealed that she was emaciated and severely infected with tuberculosis. |
