Summary[edit]

Description
English: Detailed map of Melita & Goza, from an early German edition of Munster's Cosmographia, one of the most influential cartographic works of the 16th Century. This is the second appearance of Joannes Quintinus's miniature map of Malta, first published in Lyon in 1536, which is listed by Dr. Albert Ganado as the earliest printed "miniature" map of Malta. Total page size is 14 x 8, including additional printed text. One of the earliest obtainable maps of the Island. A fine dark impression. Includes several sailing ships.
