Melalui beragam pendekatan seni, pameran Contemporary Worlds: Indonesia mencerminkan perubahan sosial dan politik yang dialami Indonesia dalam kurun waktu 20 tahun terakhir. Seniman yang berpartisipasi termasuk Eko Nugroho, Zico Albaiquni, Tisna Sanjaya, Melati Suryodarmo dan FX Harsono. Pameran ini mencakup lukisan, patung, instalasi, gambar bergerak, fotografi dan tekstil, serta menampilkan seni pertunjukan dan pemutaran film serial yang dikurasi oleh sutradara film terkenal Indonesia Garin Nugroho. “Contemporary Worlds: Indonesia menggarisbawahi semakin pentingnya industri kreatif bagi hubungan Australia-Indonesia serta menyediakan wadah bagi para seniman dan wirausahawan kreatif kami untuk lebih mengenal satu sama lain,” kata Duta Besar Australia untuk Indonesia, Gary Quinlan. “Ini adalah pameran seni kontemporer Indonesia terbesar di Australia, dan salah satu yang terbesar di luar Indonesia.
