| Description |
English: Stridulation of a column of Megaponera analis ants near Skrikfontein, Mogalakwena LM, Limpopo. The column was returning from an afternoon raid and had some termite prey. Workers were aggressive and those guarding the flanks attacked the cover of the recorder, which was placed beside them on the ground. Stridulation in ants is performed by rubbing the plectrum against the pars stridens, usually through dorsoventral movement of the gaster. |
