| Description |
English: The megalopolis never fails to draw me in. Mexico City, like other megacities I've been, is somehow always captivating. The megalopolis knows no centre, it's for all intents and purposes unbounded; reaching the edge is often a expedition that can take hours. At this scale these places start to become a universes in themselves, places where whole solar systems of life orbit unaware of the existence of others. Unlike smaller cities these places have no focus; there's no central focal point, just a set of distributed places, each worthy of a city in themselves. With this complexity and richness it's so easy for people living in these places to lose a sense of the outside world. These things all draw me in - the endlessness, the ambiguity, and the unending energy. |
