Description
English: Part of an album of Sarvavid Vairocana (the All-Knowing Buddha) comissioned by an Mongolian noble during the Qing Dynasty (18th century). According to The All-Knowing Buddha: A Secret Guide ([1], The Rubin Museum of Art, Karl Debreczeny, Elena Pakhoutova, Christian Luczanits, eds.), it is part of a Visualization Ritual Practice, depicting a meditation practitioner with the syllables om, hum, tram, hrih and ah emerging from his fingers, being transformed into emanations of rainbow light and the Five Buddhas.
