Title
Medieval harness pendant fragment
Description
English: late Medieval copper alloy and gold harness pendant fragment, 29mm long, 14mm wide and 7mm thick. The fragment is in poor condition with blue/green corrosion and weighs 2.35grams. It consists of what is now a cruciform shaped stud which is heaviliy gilded. It has a single central rivet on its reverse, which projects through the front as well, perhaps suggesting a repair? One of the arms extends to 13mm in length and has a slightly bulging circular end which has a central hole. This is attached to a V shaped fragment of the pendant by a single rivet. The whole fragment is very worn and corroded and its hard to establish its original shape.
