English: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899-1902 Medal awarded to 7142 Pte G Bostock, Liverpool Regiment Regiment silver medal; plain straight swivelling suspension; with ribbon three bars- CAPE COLONY - ORANGE FREE STATE - TRANSVAAL obverse- crowned and veiled head of Queen Victoria and legend- VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX reverse- Britannia with a flag in her left hand and holding out a laurel wreath in her right towards an advancing party of soldiers; in the background are two warships; the wreath in Britannia’s hand points to the letter ‘R’ in the word ‘AFRICA’; below the wreath, in two lines, appear the dates ‘1899-1900’ in relief; around the top are the words ‘SOUTH AFRICA’ ribbon- red with two dark blue stripes and a broad orange central stripe named on edge- 7142 PTE. G. BOSTOCK. L'POOL REGT. M.I.
