Ernest Frederick Eyre (m-i-d), Royal Engineers. a bronze four pointed star with crown at top; across the face are two crossed swords; suspension ring; with ribbon obverse- oak wreath around central scroll with date 1914; two smaller scrolls above and below with AUG and NOV; superscribed below, monogram initials GV reverse- flat and plain; stamped with recipient’s details ribbon- watered ribbon of red merging into white which merges into blue named verso- 20988 DVR. E.F. EYRE . R.E.
