English: Victory Medal, 1914-19, WW1 Medal awarded to 23-833 Rifleman Ormond Morris, New Zealand Rifle Brigade, 1NZEF circular bronze medal with ribbon; fixed loop and ring suspension obverse- the winged, full-length figure of Victory, with her arm extended and holding a palm branch in her right hand reverse- inscription- ‘THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILIZATION, 1914-1919’ surrounded by a wreath ribbon- watered colours of red, yellow, green, blue and violet merging into a rainbow pattern named on edge- 23-833 RFLM. Notes Victory Medal, 1914-19, WW1 Medal awarded to 23-833 Rifleman Ormond Morris, New Zealand Rifle Brigade, 1NZEF Ormond Morris, son of William and Ellen Morris of Ormond, New Zealand, embarked from Wellington on 9th October 1915 with the 1st Battalion New Zealand Rifle Brigade. He was killed in action on the Somme, France on 19 September 1916. He is buried at Thistle Dump Cemetery, High Wood, Longueval, Plot 1-A-33
