English: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899-1902 with four bars, Anglo Boer War Medal awarded to 3 Sgt Major William Thomas Burr, 1st New Zealand Mounted Rifles (1 Company). silver medal, 36mm diameter, with ribbon obverse- crowned and veiled head of Queen Victoria, legend- VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX reverse- Britannia with a flag in her left hand and holding out a laurel wreath in her right towards an advancing party of soldiers, in the background are two warships medal with four bars- RELIEF OF KIMBERLEY - DRIEFONTEIN - JOHANNESBURG - DIAMOND HILL ribbon- 32mm wide, red with two dark blue stripes and a broad orange central stripe named on edge- 3 REG- S. MAJOR. W.T.BURR. N.Z'LAND. M.R. markings- obverse- medallists name under bust- G.W. DE Saulles designer- GW de Saulles
