Summary[edit]

Description
English: The aisle and choir of St-Rumbold's Cathedral in Mechelen (Belgium). The main altar was designed by Willem Hesius s.j. and made by Lucas Faydherbe. The statue on top is Saint Rumbold by Lucas Faydherbe. The gilded arcs and doors were carved by Artus Quellin de Jonge.

The statues along the sides in the aisle are those of the apostles by Lucas Faydherbe.

The pulpit was carved by the Antwerp artist Michiel Vervoort (1667-1737) in 1721-1723 for the cionvent church of the sisters of Norbertus of Leliëndaal (now a jesuit church in the main street Bruul). After the French Revolution the pulpit was installed in the cathedral and built around a column by Jan-Frans van Geel (1756-1830).
