Description
English: Inscribed stone blocks. Written in Italian: "Fragments found in 2006; Fragments recovered in 2019. Old Numbers, New Numbers". Fragments at the Sulaymaniyah Museum. Final preparations of the Exhibition of the Paikuli Tower and Sassanian king Narseh at the Sulaymaniyah Museum, Iraqi Kurdistan. The Tower was built by Narseh in c. 293 at the Paikuli Pass, Sulaymaniyah Governorate, Iraq, and was inscribed with a bi-lingual (Parthian and Middle Persian) text. The project was lead by an Italian team headed by Prof. Carlo Giovanni Cereti from the Department of Classics of the Sapienza University of Rome and financed by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperatio. The project is promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI) and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage (MiBAC).
