Maximum card of the German Democratic Republic; 1985; obverse of a commemorative maxicard (= postcard + stamp + first issue day and a special postmark to the same topic) to the series "Animals threatened with extinction"; postcard motive with a red-breasted goose (Branta ruficollis; German: "Rothalsgans"; Englishː "Red-breasted goose"); postcard franked with a stamp Michel No. 2953 from 1985 of the same same series, showing birds of this species; stamp postmarked with an one-circle special postmark from 1085 Berlin, with 40.0 mm diameter showing (probably) a Manchurian crane (Grus japonensis, German: "Mandschurenkranich") as central motive. According to the IUCN is this species one of the rarest cranes species in the world which is strong threatened with extinction.
