Description
Martha Green Deshler (3/31/1879-9/20/1925), was born in the family house on Third Street, opposite the Ohio Statehouse, and was the daughter of John Green Deshler and Minnie Greene. Martha founded the Diet Kitchen charity in 1900. She married veterinarian Major Harry Wilbur Brown on December 13, 1912, and they were the parents of one daughter, Ann. They later divorced. Martha was a suffrage leader and trustee of Children's Hospital. Her Columbus home at 5277 E. Broad St. became St. Therese's Retreat Center in 1926.
