The Non-Commissioned Officer and Enlisted Careers inin the Navy of Nazi Germany (Badges, emblems)
The Kriegsmarine was the navy of Germany from 1935 to 1945. It was one of three official branches, along with the Heer (army) and the Luftwaffe (Air Force), of the Wehrmacht, the German armed forces. The Marine Hitler Youth (Marine-HJ) was a special division within the Hitler Youth, dedicated to training future recruits for the Navy of Nazi Germany and serving as an auxiliary to it. Its goal was to instill the ideology of "German maritime superiority" and prepare graduates for the construction of a post-victory merchant fleet. Established in 1935, the Marine-HJ had close ties to the Kriegsmarine and operated several naval sports schools to meet the navy's requirements. |
