M01 M05 Way of Mary (Via Mariæ) pilgrimage trails. Bilingual English Hungarian information board about the Way of Mary and History of Bag. About history part: Archaeological finds from Peres (area adjacent to highway 3) prove that people lived in the area of present-day Bag thousands of years ago. Bag name first mentioned officially in 1394, when Palatine Leusták of Ilsvai wrote a judgment letter (probate case) to Mikcs, son of the daughter of Alexander II. Akos' son he shoulf give Baag (Bag) and other estates to the widow of Ákos's son László II. Lated rulers/owners of the village: the Rozgonyi family in the 15th cent., the Báthory family in the 16th and 17th cent., Sándor Esterhazy and the Grassalkoovich family in the 18th century. Even at the beginning of the 21st century, the settlement retains some of their folk traditions, of which folk dances can be seen during events and traditional festive costumes during church attendance. Nearby sights are the Petődi spring, Scythian mound grave, the church of the Árpád era in Hévízgyörk - Located at Szentlászlói and Csintoványi Streets cnr., Bag, Pest County, Hungary

László özvegye részére, II. Ákos fia Mikcs kiadja a hitbér és kártérités keretében Baag és más birtoktesteket. (megj. egy jóval későbbi 'Bag nagyközség birtokrészletezési vázlatán' közel kéttucatnyi név szerepel Diósberek, Csintovány, Császárút, Malom, Peres, Galgavölgy, Rétszél, Árokalja, Kertalja, Kistatárülés, Nagytatárülés, Bag /itt csak a Petőfi tér és környéke volt jelőlve/, Vadaskert, Kis-Bag puszta, Rókalyuk, Százöles, Kereszt dülő, Keresztfa dülő, Tatárülés alatt, Gyertyános, Erdei földek, Oroszló, Farkaslyuk, Tálasvölgy, Hatyagvölgy, Nagyvölgy, Csigahegy; info: Fási-kert infotábla). A 15. században a Rozgonyiak, a 16. és 17. században a Báthoriak, a 18. sz.-ban Eszterházy Sándor majd a Grassalkovich család voltak a falu birtokosai. - A település még a 21. század elején is örzi népi hagyományaik egy részét melyek közül a népi táncok a rendezvények idején láthatók ill. a hagyományos ünnepi viseletek templomba járás idején. Közeli látnivalók a Petődi forrás, szkíta halomsír, hévízgyörki Árpád kori templom. - Pest megye, Bag, Szentlászlói utca és Csintoványi utca sarok
