Français : Eglise et monastère des Carmélites Déchaussées de Bethléem, peu de temps après la construction. Deutsch: Der ringförmige Klosterbau der Unbeschuhten Karmelitinnen (OCD) in Bethlehem, genannt Davidsturm ("Turris Davidica", erbaut 1876-1878). Architekt war Ibrahim Nassar, ein einheimischer Baumeister aus Bethlehem. Die Auswahl des Bauplatzes und Idee zu dem Bau stammt von Mariam Baouardy († 26. August 1878), die aus Galiläa stammte und die Bauarbeiten beaufsichtigte, da sie als Einzige der Klostergründerinnen Arabisch sprach. Die Kirche des Konvents (links) entstand einige Jahre später. |
