Description
English: In Welsh culture, the 'Mari Lwyd' is a wassailing folk custom which goes from door to door at Christmas time, demanding goods (money, food or alcohol) in return of repelling their homes from bad omens during the winter weeks, in this illustration, she is represented as the coal trade requesting concessions from the rail network.
