Description

"The March of Roguery", an 1830 caricature by C. J. Grant (Charles Jameson Grant), based on the old British inn-sign of the "Five Alls" or "Four Alls". (This occurred in a number of variations, but usually included a monarch saying "I rule (for) all" or "I govern all", a bishop or minister saying "I pray for all", a soldier saying "I fight for all", and a farmer saying "I pay for all". For a modern version, see File:Chepstow - The Five Alls inn sign - geograph.org.uk - 484144.jpg.)

Little is known about C.J. Grant, but he was publishing in the late 1820s, which makes it unlikely that he could have been born much after 1810.
