Deutsch: Epitaph für den Bürger und Bäcker Johannes Landau, * 11. Dezember 1638, † 21. Januar 1673 mit 34 Jahren, acht Jahre verheiratet mit Elisabeth Bredhauerin, mit der er fünf gemeinsame Töchter hatte. Standort: Marburg, Friedhof am Barfüßertor, vor der Ostwand. Vorderseite, Ansicht von Norden.

Inschrift:

Im Jahre 1673 den 21. Tag/ Januarii Morgens zwischen 3 und/ 4 Uhr ist in Gott seelig entschlaffen/
der ehrnhafften Johannes Landau Bür/ger und Becker alhier, nachdem er mit/
seiner lieben Hausfrau Elisabetha/ gebohrener Bredhauerin in friedlich Ehe/
gelebt 8 Jahr 8 Monat und 4 Tage, darin ...(bereits 1938 größtenteils unleserlich. sinngemäß:)
Sie erzielten keinen Sohn aber 5 Töchter. Er lebte 34 Jahr 1 Monat und 10 Tage.
Gott verleihe ihm eine fröhliche Auferstehung.
