Summary[edit]

Description Ouch! Now just look at the state of that building up ahead! Many of the old buildings in the Bhaktapur Durbar Square are in a precarious condition due to a devastating earthquake which hit in 2015 and caused much damage. Sadly however, despite their precarious conditon, people still live in these dangerous structures and even run shops in them like the ones you can see here. A sign on the building says Cosy Hotel- I hope that is just an advertisement on this building and is not for a hotel located in this dangerous building which looks like it could collapse into rubble merely by a strong gust of wind! I really pity those operating here, shows that they are of very moderate means. Ouch! (Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Nepal, Oct/ Nov 2019)
