Right from Mannerheim senator Svinhufvud. Baron Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, Commander-in-Chief of Finland's Defence Forces led government forces during the civil war of 1917–18. An astute politician and a successful military commander. He was Regent of Finland (1918–1919), and the sixth President of Finland (1944–1946). |
