Summary[edit]

Description
English: M&GN number 3 Built in 1886 by Midland Railway, Derby as Lot 102, Diagram 465, Running No 1616.

Transferred to the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway in 1903, becoming running No 3. Withdrawn from passenger duties in 1932, then used as departmental vehicle in the Signal & Telegraph Department as a mobile workshop / mess room. Withdrawn in 1935. Body removed from underframe and used as a club house at Briston Recreation ground (next village to Melton Constable). Moved to 9 Edgefield Road in 1937/8, transported by horse and cart. Manhandled over the garden wall by a group of men from the nearby Melton Constable railway works . Returned at the end of 2002 under the care of the M&GN Joint Railway Society.
