English: Mailbox at 621 22nd Avenue in Fairbanks, Alaska, photographed in July 2012. At that point, the house was either abandoned and about to be torn down, or had already been torn down, part of a years-long process on the part of the landowner to convert the area from residential to commercial use. The key item of note is the newspaper box at the bottom. It is for Jessen's Daily, which lasted for a year or two in the late 1960s but tied together two weeklies (Jessen's Weekly and The All-Alaska Weekly) that had a combined history of approximately a half century. Despite its rather short lifespan, the newspaper's boxes would be a fixture in Fairbanks neighborhoods for decades to come, particularly in South Fairbanks.
