Summary[edit]

Description
English:  : Madonna and Child at the Saints Peter and Paul Church (the city library at back). Late baroque style, but the sanctuary is XV. century, Gothic. The first church in this site was built in 1082 under rule of Ladislaus I of Hungary. in 1564 under a siege exploded and only the sanctuary left. Rebuilt as a wooden church, burned down around 1670. After 1722 partially and between 1788 and 1802 a remodelled new church was built. The first pipe organ got in 1858, and a new one in 1963, this last planned by Lajos Szalay and built by Nándor Gonda. 1st tower clock (1964), a new radio-controlled got in 2000. The statues of patrons (in front of the church) 2006 works(?).
