Pongal 3rd day celebration as a thanks to the cows in a TN village.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: There are 4 days of celebration for pongal in Tamil Nadu. First day - called bogi, all unwanted things are burnt. Second day - pay respect to sun god and have special family meal. Third day - maatu pongal, as respect to cows and instruments used by farmers. Fourth day - kaanum pongal, when you pay respect to elders and get their blessings by falling in their feet.
