Description
Français : Ces deux photographies on été prises à un même endroit de Paris, le croisement entre la rue Geoffroy-Saint-Hilaire et la rue Buffon, mais avec un écart approximatif de 130 ans. La photographie d'en haut, prise par le photographe Pierre Petit vers 1885, montre l'ancien cabinet d'histoire naturelle du MNHN (Muséum national d'histoire naturelle). C'est le même cabinet qui fut réorganisé et agrandi par Buffon au XVIIIe siècle et qui était appelé "cabinet du roi" du temps des monarchies en France. Cet ancien bâtiment fut démoli au XXe siècle. La photographie d'en bas, prise en décembre 2017, montre le bâtiment qui en 1963 remplaça l'ancien cabinet du roi, c'est la réserve de la bibliothèque centrale du MNHN, encore en fonctions de nos jours.
