English: Appellate Courthouse (J.B. Lord, Architect, 1899) seen through the archway of the Metropolitan Life Building (Harvey Wiley Corbett and Dan Everett Waid, Architects, built between 1928-1950). Sculptural group over pediment by Daniel Chester French. In the background, the NY Merchandise Mart, designed by Emery Roth & Sons, 1974.
