Summary[edit]

Description
Português: MHN Automóvel Protos - Século XX - 1908
English: Protos 17/25 PS Landaulet, year 1908.

The car, made in Germany, is part of the collection of the National Historical Museum in Rio de Janeiro. The car in question came in a batch with 3 more identical models and initially served the Baron of Rio Branco, then Minister of Foreign Affairs. After his death, and in 1912, the Protos was transferred to the Customs of the Capital and, in 1916, to the Police Brigade of the Federal Capital (current Military Police of RJ). Finally, in 1925, the Protos was ceded to the National Historical Museum, where it remains until today.

Nowadays, only one more car like this is known all over the world, being part of the collection of another museum, the Deutsches Museum, in Munich, Germany.
